Services
Language and communication are diverse and complex by nature. I am pleased to help you choose fitting options to create the best interpreting experience for your clients and guests. As for the translation or revision of your texts, I provide customized packages that meet your needs. Below you will find a brief overview of my services:
To avoid unnecessary delays, I provide simultaneous interpretation of presentations and conversations in real time. As a result, all attendees receive the necessary information as quickly as possible. Interpretation booths guarantee the conditions required for simultaneous interpretation. This mode is ideal for conferences, panel discussions, or large events.
This modality is essentially simultaneous interpreting without the soundproof booths. Instead, I whisper what is being said directly into the ears of those in need of an interpretation or use a portable tour-guide system. Whispered interpreting is particularly suitable for guided tours, small events, or settings where only a few individuals require an interpretation.
Consecutive interpreting means interpreting in sections. The speakers will break their statements into shorter segments (max. 8 minutes) and pause after each complete thought to give the interpreter time to convey the message. I will be taking notes to make sure the message is as complete and accurate as possible. Consecutive interpreting is often used at official events, for interviews, or in conversation settings.
Community interpreting is usually conducted in social service, health, legal and administrative settings, e.g. at police stations, in hospitals, at counseling centers, during psychotherapy sessions, or in the context of asylum proceedings. Unlike conference interpreting, these areas involve highly personal, intimate, and life-changing conversations that affect individuals' everyday lives. As a professional interpreter, I pay particular attention to ensuring confidentiality, adhering to my professional role, and creating conditions for the conversation that are appropriate for all parties involved.
Translation refers to the written transfer of texts from a source language into a target language. I translate texts from various (specialist) fields from English and French into German, as well as from German and French into English. In the process, I pay attention not only to the accuracy of content and terminology, but also to a natural style that appeals to the target audience.
Are you looking for professional help making sure that your text drafts are correct, fit the tone of your communication situation and are reader-friendly? I will proofread and edit your texts to strengthen your corporate identity and ensure clear communication. I tailor your text to your specific needs and offer gender-inclusive and discrimination-sensitive language editing.
As in many other fields, technology has made my work as a language mediator much easier. However, machine or AI-generated translations often contain inconsistencies regarding language and content. I am familiar with the common errors and limitations of machine translation tools. During the post editing process, I ensure that the machine's draft is transformed into a final text that is comprehensible, accurate and sounds natural.
language matters – both internally and externally!
I can help you communicate clearly and consistently using inclusive language and advise companies, NGOs and individuals on topics such as:
- Terminology management: How to use specialised terms consistently and establish in-house language standards.
- Gender-sensitive and discrimination-sensitive language: How to use language consciously and make diversity visible while keeping communicaiton simple.
From team training to editorial guidelines and specific text examples – I tailor my coachings to your individual needs.
